12th of May Diary Day

  • WRAP 83 Queens Road Brighton, England, BN1 3XE United Kingdom (map)

WRAP is taking part in 12th of May Diary Day! But…what is it, exactly?

Every year on 12th May people are invited to record their experiences of that day. Participation is open to everyone; diaries can be written, drawn or photographed. Responses are stored at The Keep in Sussex, as part of the Mass Observation archive.

In 2026 the subject focus of the project is nature & wellbeing; what was people’s experience of nature that day and how did it make them feel?

You’ll be invited to:

“Tell us if you go out and experience nature on 12th May. Where did you go? How did this experience make you feel? Is nature an important part of your life and how does it relate to your wellbeing? If you were at work, or indoors, is there somewhere else you would have liked to have been instead? If you were at school, is there a part of your day, where you interact with nature? What does this mean to you?”

This is a national moment to capture everyday life - through your community. This is a simple, high-value way to engage your community through a ready-made campaign that generates rich, qualitative insight into how your audience experiences nature. Be part of a UK-wide dataset shaping how nature and wellbeing are understood and have your community's voice be part of this.

Participation is open to everyone. Diaries can be written, drawn, or photographed. As detailed or simple as they like. Submissions can be made:
