Meet the Members: Dean from Sussex Bay

Hi, I'm Dean and I’m the Head of the wonderful Sussex Bay, which is all about enabling our ocean, people and economy to thrive.  I work in WRAP and in other office space along our project area: Chichester to Kent and everything in between for over one million residents.

Sussex Bay is new, launched in Brighton in June 2024 and is co-producing a blueprint for seascape recovery over the years ahead, as we build up a £50M for nature-led recovery and engage communities around our work. We are nature first and a small but mighty team of two: you'll see me and Dr Lewis White, our Science Lead in WRAP, plus we're about to recruit a Communities Lead.

We're here because there is no sustainable funding for the ocean, nor one government department with ownership.  We are core funded by Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and a location partner for the government's innovation agency, supporting businesses with designing and delivring space enabled projects that connect people to nature across Sussex Bay.
