What Makes WRAP Special

Coworking and me - a rocky start…

Before working at WRAP, the only time I had encountered coworking was when my beloved local Pizza Express was replaced by a coworking space! As they didn’t serve dough balls with garlic butter (and I wasn’t entirely sure what a coworking space even was), this change deeply upset me.

Despite that rocky introduction, actually working in a coworking space has shown me how much more there is to the concept. It’s such an interesting sector, combining the need for new ways of working in a modern, hybrid world with the very human urge to seek out community and connection.

WRAP has now been open for five years now and has built an amazing community - one I’ve been lucky to be part of for the last year. Here are just a few reasons why I think WRAP is such a special place

Work. Life. Balanced.

I believe that what truly sets WRAP apart from other coworking spaces is Ed and Sarah (our co-founders) and their genuine commitment to supporting parents returning to work. WRAP is the only coworking space in Brighton with an on-site nursery and for the past 5 years it has helped families navigate the transition back into the workplace. No more juggling multiple drop-offs, travelling across town, or squeezing productivity into tiny windows. Everything parents need is under one roof—and beyond the practical benefits, WRAP offers a community of people who genuinely understand and support one another.

WRAP’s memberships are also designed around the realities of family life. Plans can be changed, paused, or cancelled whenever circumstances shift, and memberships can be shared with a partner, friend, or colleague—ideal for families who alternate work and childcare. It’s a setup built to be practical and adaptable, rather than one-size-fits-all.

At the beginning of 2026, we have some very exciting things in the pipeline to further support parents and carers returning to work. I can’t say much just yet… but we’re all really excited about what’s coming!

I’ve been using both the WRAP office space and nursery for over 3 years now and I love it. I tried loads of other office spaces before here and, in most places, I felt like I was just getting a desk and internet access. But at WRAP, you feel like you’re part of a nice community.

A Space that Inspires

Walking into the pair of converted Victorian townhouses that now house WRAP, it’s immediately clear that Ed’s background is in project management and Sarah’s is in interior design. With perfectly curated corners, beautiful artwork and cosy spaces throughout, Sarah set out to create a home-from-home vibe.

There’s honestly nothing nicer than watching a winter sunrise from the roof terrace or hitting that 3pm slump in a space filled with greenery and warm lighting to carry you through. It’s a world away from battling the harsh glare of overhead office flourescent lighting.

Community

Within 83 Queens Road, you’ll find a wonderfully varied mix of businesses. (Below you can see the breakdown of industries—beautifully illustrated by our Community Manager, Nina!)

One sector we’re especially proud to support is local charities and not-for-profits. We offer a 20% discount on memberships and meeting room bookings for all charities, and 1% of our income goes directly to two fantastic local organisations: BrightPip and Sussex Bay.

These two charities do incredibly important work and to help share their missions - especially with the next generation - we’ve created a new mascot for the nursery!

‘Pepe the Plover’ is based on the Ringed Plover, a small coastal bird found living on shingle beaches along the South Coast, which Sussex Bay is working hard to protect and conserve.

(Pepe has also been designed by Nina, thank you yet again!)

Behind the Scenes

Nina has already had a few shoutouts - and for good reason. As WRAP’s Community Manager, she’s the first friendly face you’ll see when you arrive, the master of our CRM system and the curator of the ever-changing gallery of local artwork that fills the building.

Another member of our small-but-mighty team is Emma, our Meeting Room and Events Coordinator. Emma blends logistics with genuine warmth. She’s the type of person who will trek across Brighton for a specific tea simply because she thinks it will make someone’s day a little brighter.

One thing I love about working at WRAP - something I’m sure Nina and Emma would also agree with - is the delicious free lunch we get every day. From tofu and cauliflower tikka masala to Greek butterbean stew and daal, most people are surprised to learn that the meals we enjoy are the very same dishes served to the nursery children! WRAP Nursery’s fully plant-based menu is created by our amazing in-house chef, Tabita!

WRAP members may already be fans of her work without realising it as she is also the mastermind behind the free Wednesday cake and Thursday Super Soup!

And That’s a WRAP!

Hopefully this has given you a clearer picture of what WRAP is all about. But honestly, the best way to understand it is to come in and see it for yourself. Just drop us an email at hello@wrap.space — we’d love to show you around!
