People’s Emergency Briefing Screening for Educators

  • WRAP 83 Queens Road Brighton, England, BN1 3XE United Kingdom (map)

WRAP will be hosting a special edition of the People’s Emergency Briefing screening for educators in collaboration with Celine McKeown (Meaningful Futures) on Wednesday 18th of November 6-8 pm.

The People’s Emergency Briefing is part of a growing UK-wide movement to ensure that people are properly informed about the climate and nature emergency – not simply through headlines and statistics, but through clear, accessible evidence about what it means for our lives, our communities and the future.

What does it mean for education when the world our young people are preparing to enter is changing so rapidly? What does this mean for us and how we feel about our role within the education sector? What knowledge, skills, agency and opportunities do young people need – and what role can we as educators play in helping them navigate and shape the future?

After the screening Celine will facilitate a group dialogue to explore these questions together and connecting the issues raised in the film with the realities and opportunities we see locally.  Please note that the National Emergency Briefing team guidance for the film is 16+, so we will explore what else is possible, needed and appropriate for under 16s.

Anyone who works with young people in or outside the formal education sector is welcome to join.
